The Edmonton Oilers are returning to the Western Conference Final for the first time in four years after a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 of their second-round series.

The Oilers and Canucks traded goals in the first period before Edmonton took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Connor McDavid early in the second period. The Canucks tied the game again in the third period, but Leon Draisaitl scored the eventual game-winner with just over five minutes remaining in regulation.

Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the game.

The Oilers will now face the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, which begins on Tuesday night in Edmonton. The Stars advanced to the final after defeating the Colorado Avalanche in seven games.
