In the episode "Fear and Clothing," the character of Will Truman (played by Eric McCormack) is visited by his friend, Derek Basco (played by Derek Basco). Basco is a struggling actor who is staying at Will's apartment while he looks for a new place to live. Will is initially hesitant to let Basco stay with him due to some past issues between them.
However, Basco eventually convinces Will to let him stay, and the two begin to bond. They talk about their lives, their relationships, and their hopes and dreams. Will eventually learns that Basco is a talented actor who is just struggling to find his break.
