Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario – Algoma Steel Group Inc. (TSX: ASTL) today announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, which ended March 31, 2025. The company reported a decrease in steel shipments compared to the same period last year due to a three-week planned outage at its plate and strip facility.

Algoma Steel Group reported:
- Steel shipments of 505,000 tons, down from 602,000 tons in Q1 2024
- Revenue of $900 million, a decrease of 12% year-over-year
- Net income of $50 million, compared to $65 million in Q1 2024
- Adjusted EBITDA of $100 million, a decrease of 15% from the previous year
